CALL FOR PAPERS:

The Conference topic is 'Departures'. The major denotations are death, travelling, innovation, transgression, breaking with norms, conventions, or ideologies, etc. On the eve of the new millenium, it seems appropriate to examine the ways in which a postcolonial nation like Australia re-invents itself, and the difficulties inherent in such a process.

Papers are invited on the above topic. 200-word abstracts should be sent before 15 February 1999 to:
